Everyone I know calls it a Porsh. Doesnt bother me, I know what they are talking about. As long as they can pronounce my name correctly I leave them alone.

Cool Whatchmacallit......

Occasionally someone asks me if my 911 was made by Volkswagon. I usually reply "Yes, it's really just a Volkswagon with an ATTITUDE!" When friends start harrassing me about my 911 vs their Vette, I just politely ask them how much their Vette has depreciated since they bought it! I guess it's all part of "the game".

I used to own a 1988 924S but really got tired of telling people that it wasn't a Toyota.

Subie, or sometimes Ubasu. My WRX friends love it when I call it an Ubasu.

I don't mind how people pronounce it, but the last time I got my car inspected, the guy wrote "porsh" on the back of the inspection sticker. All he had to do was look at the rear end to see how to spell it!

Honestly, they can call my 1980 euro 911 targa anything they like, even when I pull away from them through a curves... I generally cant hear them from behind over the noise of my baby's air cooled purr.... but I would bet they are quiet and maybe even frowning!

Muhuhahahaha

life is indead good!

In Norway we have a saying that goes something like this:
"A dear child is known by many names....."

But to be strictly correct:
In german it's pronounced "porschE", ending with an E, as in the beginning of Elvis ;-)

Saw a TV interview with Steve McQueen's son the other day, and he referred to it as "Porsh," describing some of his late father's cars. Whether it's right or night, it's hardly the first time he would have heard of the brand. I suspect a lot of people who are extremely experienced Porsche drivers use the "American" pronunciation as a kind of anti-snob statement.

not to be a nag here, but it's not an americanism to call it a Porsch.
probably 90% of the general population of non German speaking countries use that pronounciation...

if anything would be an americanism , it would be Por-sha not Porsch

And then you add half a cup of flour, and 2 eggs. That should do it.

... sorry, was that too off-topic?
