I think this article is here on the Pelican board somewhere. If you can't find it, I will upload for you.
I can't find the article. I would love to read it, Arnljot!

1964-1968 911s had a shorter wheelbase than 69-89. As I understand it, converting to the later wheelbase is pretty straightforward, rear suspension and sheetmetal. If you want more detail, do a search I know it has come up before.

Ya know... out there "shopping" it's tough to find a coupe without a sunroof (newer years 74 and up) If I wound up with an SR car, is it worth it to delete it, or just hold out for the non SR car?

Sun roof is the least of the issues I would worry about if I was doing an RSR project, I would value more a car that is "RSR" potential, like a car that has turbo brakes and maybe a roll bar already, in other words, some one elses incomplete "RSR" progect.

Why not start of with a 930 and back date that? It already has the best of everything and you can make 400+hp easy.

Guys,

The car is purchased and torn down... to the comments... 930 flares are significantly different than RSR flares. I'm back dating to the 73... an 82 has a galvanized body, less chance for rust. By getting a sunroofless coupe (rare) several issues are relieved for a track car. Weight in the lid, broken stuff... head room. Plus one less thing to do with the body (major).

Brakes etc... I'll deal with that if I need to. The 82 brakes are not exactly low duty for now... Also the 930 is HEAVY.... This car will be close to 245+ at the wheels (hopefully, more when I go full race mode) and weigh in around 2100-2300#

Pic updates:
