what is the simplest method of placing an oil temp sending unit in a 930 transaxle? the trans does not have an oil cooler. is there an adaptor that can be placed in the filler plug opening? thanks,

don't see how a temp sensor in the filler plug opening would be accurate since the sensor wouldn't be completely in the oil all the time...
trannies shouldn't run as hot as an engine anyway , which is why they don't have a temp sensor from the factory... sounds a bit overkill to me

Why don't you clean the case real well, and then, with thermoconductive putty, install a thermocouple right onto the trans case. Do it underneath the fill level. Install thermocouple reader and you shoudl be done.
Just a thought. No need to drill. The case should be just about as hot as the fluid. George |
