Whoo hoo... found the car for the RSR project, need advice..
Found my car... 82 SC non-sunroof coupe... with some track mods done already. Dead engine... It runs but dropped a cylinder sounds like. Pics when I have the car in hand.
The question... Sell the 3.0 as it sits (anyone interested) or build the snot out of it and keep it. My ultimate goal is a 3.6 conversion... Opinions??? ![]()

Hi
Build your motor or get a 3.6? somewhat of a loaded question; what are your capabilities? If you know how/ tools to build a motor, given that the crank, rods, block, oil system are ok on the 3.0, you can get some good power by making it a high compression twin plug with carburetors and headers / SSi's. If not, you are better off $$ wise to get the 3.6. A decent used 3.6 costs about $6500 or so and has gobs more torque than any built 3.0. You won't have an absolute service history on the 3.6 motor , but as long as its a later head style, minor leaks are usually what awaits you. There are plenty of threads on the 3.6 conversion on this board- i'd say most were very happy with doing it Now if you need and RS/ RSR parts- drop us a line- our host distributes our product now and we can advise you of your options Good luck Dave info@tremotorsports.com

i thought about that car. i saw the ad and instantly checked my bank account. the numbers didnt jive, no matter what i tried to do. good purchase. i think you should just shoehorn a 3.6 into it, right from the get go.

If you want the 3.6 don't bother building your 3.0. Just get the 3.6. Congrats and good luck with your new project.
