3.6 Cyl Head Temp Sensor Location...

I know it's at/near cyl #3, but does anyone have a picture, or good description of its location? Is it accessible from the engine bay, or underneath the engine? Anything special to know about changing it out? I believe I need a 14mm wrench with the end cut out for the wire...will probably use a flare-nut wrench.

I suspect it is at the heart of my cold starting problem.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

My head temp sensor was broken upon arrival of my engine, so I replaced it during that time.

I don't know how similar it is on 993 engines, but here's the Pelican article for replacement on a 3.2.

It is on the rear of the motor and has a black rubber plug over it. The wirecoming from it should be white and encased in a plastic sleeve. I believe you need a 14mm 12 pt socket that has to be cut down to fit - it is a PITA.

Divers side/front of the engine - two wires

1 from the flywheel sensor and the other to the side of it is the temp sensor. There are no other wires

Not bragging, but I could drop it and install it by myself in under an hour. These cars are the easiest (mechanically) thing to work on ever.

First I loved VW Beetles, then 914's and 911's. To this day nothing comes close. Germans...

I have been busy, but watch your mail.
