Flash to, um, not pass?

This has happened a couple of times in the past week. Most recently tonight. Can anyone shed light (no pun intended) on the event?

I was the 3rd car back behind an 18 wheeler full of mulch. We were entering the interstate. In front of me (car #2) was a BMW M3. In front of him (behind the truck) was a generic 3 series (car #1).

We all hit the interstate. Car one passes the truck on the left. Car #2 closes gap behind truck. I stepped on it and passed Car #2 and the truck following car #1. Car #2 passed truck in and follows close behind me. I figure I got my mad accelleration out of the way, I'll let him be the rabbit and I'll be lead dog. So I take the left lane in front of the truck. Car #2 squats in between me and the truck and hi-beams me. WTF??

I can't figure what he possibly wanted other than for me to be his rabbit. He got off at the next exit, so I really can't figure it out...

I can't figure out all the car #1, Car#3, car#2 stuff but maybe it was a hot BMW babe looking for some Porsche roadside action.

May have been a friendly flash hello from one nice Euro car to another. Or maybe his other car really is a Porsche.

Could he have been signalling the truck? Truckers have their own routine of flashing when it's safe to move back after a pass. Sometimes cars join in.

In LA they only flash the lights when the glock is out of ammo.

It would seem to me that he was going to pull out and you were already there. He was a little pissed and told you all about it. My guess anyway.

In LA, Glocks are owned mostly by afficionados. The guns on the street are all made in Brazil. What would a gang banger know about a Glock?

Road rage and drive by's can't be lumped into the same catagory. Not sure what the statistics are, but I'm betting middle class are just as prone as any other to commit a road rage incident.

Car number 2 is driving his M3 like a pansy and can't use the mirrors. By the time he figured out that it was OK to pass, you were already making you pass. He got pissed.

If you can't drive it like it wants to be driven, buy a minivan and stay out of the way. Just my two cents.

I got lost in the numbers too, but I've done that "flash the trucker to let him know it's ok for him to change lanes" thing before. Truckers can't necessarily see whether or not they're clear to change lanes, so as a courtesy, some drivers flash the trucker if it's ok.

Or maybe he intended to shoot you, but his Uzi was dry. That's possible too.

Sounds like the dude was just being an ass. "You jerk Porsche driver! It was my turn!". The people that are most prone to do stupid things on the road are always the most pissed when something doesn't go their way.

It was probably a female driver... and as we all know... female drivers; no survivors.

I think that must have been it to. Got bested by a 20 year old car.

I now see what you all are saying about people driving more like jack-asses when we're in the Porsches.

Sorry nothing personal, I'll disagree and think as a curtousy you should have let him over as the three of you were travelling in a group. Kind of a dlck manuver I usually see from ricers, BMW drivers, and pickups.
You didn't get there any faster and pissed someone off. Mabye later he'll see a Porsche and cut them off on purpose.
