air box conversion for cis to efi

I just couldn't stand to look at the painted steel adapter plate I'd made for this:

so I took it all apart and made this one. I think the brushed aluminum is a 100% improvment over the painted black one I'd made.

Alan,

Other then looking alot better does moving the TB more center increase performance? I sure like the way that looks! Please post more pics when you get a chance.

Alan,
Looks good. Are you making arrangements for a popoff?

I'm not sure if the location of the TB will help or hinder performance.

right now my air intake is going to consist of a rubber elbow, 4" of aluminum intake tube and a cone filter. I'll post pics of that soon.

I'm hoping I can tune the megasquirt in before I need a popoff. But I've hoped for lots of things that didn't happen, so we'll see. I'll know for sure next monday when I turn the key.

this is where I got my elbow and intake tube.

http://shop.airflowonline.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=AFSI&Category_Code=9D

It's nothing fancy but it'll work.

got your pm Al, I'll be over on saturday and head back on sunday.

we've had rain every day for the last week. I'm hoping to see the sun when I head over.

what time are you heading over to PIR on saturday? maybe we could hook up somewhere around the track. when I come over I take 18 south from 90 all the way to 167 so I drive right by the track. let me know.

You might see a bit in the morning, but our weather has caved in too.
I plan on getting to the track about 10:00am or so. I can meet you at the entrance anytime around there or??

Question

I have been wondering if you could use fuel lines instead metal fuel rail. It looks like you did just that. What type of T fittings are on the injectors? Thanks, Sam

The air filter finally came in, here it is...

Those are 5/16 brass T's, you can get them at pretty much any parts store. they are in the "HELP" line.

AL, I PM'd you about this weekend.

Is there going to be enough clearance for that? Looks like it will be a good 2-4 inches too tall. Regardless, the whole setup looks real good so far, nice work

Air filter is too high for sure. I checked the web page you posted and I the following is a perfect rubber boot. I've been looking for something like this for a while.
