Thanks! It's an heirloom car that I'll hand down to my son when he is ready for stewardship.

Half a year ago got this beauty - my first Porsche. 1985 German model in a lovely shade of custom “Previous-Owner Blue” with black interior. Was originally white and without the spoilers

Can't decide if to keep the whale-tail or not though…

Restored and mostly stock, tiny bit lowered and now sporting yellow french headlight lenses

Quick tech question -- can one modify an older SC top (with hook latch set up) to work on a later roller bearing type latch setup? (realize you have to replace the front frame pieces w/bearings).

Graci... .

Over a year an no posts in this thread? What gives? Where have all the awesome Targas gone?

I just acquired my first. I sold my 911sc coupe back in 16 and after watching prices balloon I assumed I was out of the air-cooled game forever. Came across this one last week and couldn't say no, though. It's an 81 ROW Targa. Complete lack of maintenance records has me a bit worried but the price was low enough that I don't think I'll completely lose my @$$ on it even if things go really sideways. At least has a pop off valve already installed so there was some pre-emptive maintenance/upgrades going on.

Recently joined this club, and while I'm digging through all the info out there on the interweb, I am wondering - What's a normal amount of movement to see in the distance between the windshield and roll bar when jacking up from the jack points by the doors? Or when setting on jackstands at the torsion bar after jacking up by the engine?
