The top was made by RKF I believe, they went out a business like a month before i decided to buy one, I ended up finding this one at oklahoma foreign on a wrecked car, It is much quieter then the cab top i had, the name of it was RKF Sportster, you might post an add looking for a used one, it is really easy to install with hand tools, I plan to put a real speedster clam on it later, Kevin

It looks like a 16" in the front and 15" in the back?!? Maybe all you need to do is lower it? But something looks odd....

Finally posting my Targa. First shot is in front of Westside Tennis club. I can't believe they didn't kick us out for dripping oil all over the brick.

The second is taken this past weekend after a three day drive in Louisiana and Mississippi visiting plantations with the wife. Actually the plantations were an excuse for me to drive about 1,000 miles of back roads in three days. I recommend River Road along the Mississippi. Lots of curves and very few cars. This pic was taken in front of a very old Mission style Texaco gas station in Donaldsonville, Louisiana.

Looks like the smaller tire size on the rear wheels, like a 225/45-16 which is nearly an inch smaller in diameter than the standard 24.8 inches.

The rears are Bridgestone S03s 245/45-16 and the fronts are 205/55-16s, so I don't know what more I could have done. I did notice that the S03s do have a more rounded shoulder. Maybe thats why it looks so small?

The car was also sitting on jackstands for about two weeks before this pic. I drove it around the block ( about 5 miles ) just before the photo.

Do y'all think I have a problem?

That's what it is. I don't think it's a problem. But if it doesn't come down some after driving it, you might want to lower it a little?

Just my opinion, of course! Still a sweet car!

No, those are both correct sizes for this car. Maybe it's the combination of ride height, tire shoulder radius, and the perspective in the photo. Your car looks fine, though, and lowering it to euro-spec, as I'm doing to mine, will improve appearance quite a bit. It's one of the the lowest cost performance & appearance mod you can make if you do it yourself.

I'm happy with my 73 E thanks
Some of the new models don't do it for me.
Each to their own I guess...

Pat,
Do you have the euro-spec height setting handy?

There may be several answers to your question, but I've found that when your car is sitting on dead level ground, without having been up on a jack prior to measurement, the top of the front fender opening sould measure 25.5 inches and the top of the rear fender opening should be 25 inches.

While the front is rather easy to reduce in height, the rear is a bit more complicated. Do a little searching using the search button at the top of this thread and you'll find the procedure in a number of threads in fine detail.

I may have responded to your car before, but WOW!!! Your 77 Targa is one of the few that appeals to me as much as any stock Coupe out there--very, very, nice indeed.

Sincerely,

Mike
