Is this caliper correct?
I went to install the speedbleeders I ordered for my '75 911S. I was sent two pairs of 7x1.0mm bleeders, and they fit fine on the rear calipers.
But the front calipers have TWO bleeders each, and they are 10x1.0mm. I should have checked them first. Question1: Is this really a stock caliper for the '75 911s? Question2: How do I bleed them? Crack one bleeder, bleed, then close it and do the other one? Thanks Colin

That's an "S" all right.
Why not give her a good clean up while you have it off? I always bleed them from the outside to the inside.

Cowtown, I just finished the same project last night. Yes, that is the correct caliper and has two bleeders. That is an S caliper (aluminum).
Can you put my mind at ease and tell me if that is the top of the calliper in the picture. I can't remember when I took mine off if the bleeders were on the top or bottom.

Speed bleeders kick butt! I love them on my calipers. Open, pump, close, next.
yes you have S calipers. They require a different size bleeder screw.

poorsha, did you get it looking that good from just a cleanup, or did you have them anodized or something?

RallyJon,
"spit and polish" (and some Simple Green). I also installed the Stainless pistons. I am amazed at the condition of everything on my 74 (except for the paint). Not a single frozen nut or bolt. The brake backing plates cleaned up the same way (they are out for plating along with just about everything else).I am taking a lot of pics.

Can you confirm which is the top of the caliper. Do the bleed screws go on top?

Thanks you guys. These "S" calipers are so much nicer than the ones on my old '88 that they confused me. The '88 Carrera had a big heavy steel caliper with one bleeder.
These are so light and good lookin'! Colin

poorsha, that caliper is stunning. i think the bleeders are on the top to let the air bubbles that float a easy way out.
do speed bleeders make the motive power bleeder obsolete? or redundant?
