Coastline, I am glad you found this thread. I did not know any of this existed. I just carry a full sized spare under the bar in the trunk and Bungy cord it to the Cross Bar. I also carry a large leaf bag in case I need to change the tire on the rear which will only fit in the back seat which I do not want to get dirty.
I also noticed that the earlier 1973 and back had a fully inflated spare and the tank was made differently. WIth a good compressor, how much time does it take to inflate the spare?

Hey George I'm interested it will save a lot of work. is it 6x16"? How much? fell free to email me at drcoastline@comcast.net if you don't want to post the price here. Edit: Are you in Switzerland? What would that cost to ship?
It will make my decision easier once I get an answer if it will fit. The original space saver rim from my car is a 5-1/2 Jx15. VinceHill, There are a few here is the other one with a lot of good info and pics. I hope the link works. It is a 15" The rim is almost perfect, only a very few tiny marks. Tire has never seeen the road.
350$ plus shipping. The wheel is in Switzerland. |
