In "Das Buch" or The Book: Carrera RS, this Porsche RSR is listed as one of the very few RSR's imported into the US (The Book lists ALL chassis numbers and countries of export to each particular RSR). It may have been imported as "off-road only", as the engines could not meet the smog standards of 1973 (correct me if I'm wrong).
It was delivered as an M 491, delivered 1/1973 to the US, the original color was a "light ivory", color code 111, paint code 131 Glasurit, and the fourth most popular color delivered as one of the 160 RSR Light Ivory Carreras. It's really great to have this RSR in the US, and should be preserved, specially in such outstanding shape! Thanks for sharing!!! Footnote: My Carrera was built in September 1973.
