Would like to remove A/C

Hi,

I purchased my first 911 and I am having a great time with it. It is a 1972 911T Targa that I bought from the original owner and an old family friend. It has 215k miles with 50k on the current engine and the original transmission. It has never been hit but it has a little bit of rust, otherwise it is in mint condition.

Question:

It has an A/C unit that has not worked for 10 years and I would like to remove it. If I take the unit out of the car it look like I will need to install a new knee pad in its place and I can’t seem to find one on-line. Pelican has one for a 1977 and I was wondering if that would work?

Thanks

Per the catalog, they are the same part in 1972 and 1977

Should be fine.
