Bentleys manual correct ?
The Bentleys manual says the late 80's 911's came with the rear ride height adjustment at the bottom of the adjustment range, (can't go any lower unless you reset the T-bars) does anyone know if that is true ?
Thanks Jack, 87 Carrera

It's my understanding that they did have adjustable spring plates, but i don't think they were at the minimum height. I thought there was a bit of movement in either direction.

No...as delivered form the factory..the adjustment is fully to one side....allowing only upwards adjustment.
This was done to allow you to regain height lost over time if the torsion bars sag..... ![]() Meaning?...the implication stated in the Bentley manual is correct. Wil

Meaning...it's prolly a good time to check those bushing, replace if neccessary and pick up some Sway Away double adjustable spring plates....

I'm not a fan o Sway-Away spring plates because the splines don't often match well with torsion bar splines...some filing is necessary. May be better when matching Sway-Away ( Weltmeister) bars and plates, though...
If you use the post 77-78 adjustable spring plates...good idea to set "in the middle" as you reindex...to gain you some later up/down adjustment...even if its 3/4" total range or so... Wil

Dunno about the splines as I did the 28mm t-bar swap at the same time...but their bushings were not a good fit.
