Do need to primer glazing putty?

Just wondering if I need to primer glazing putty befor top coating? It is Everclear (ever something) G P.

How much glazing putty did you slather on? If it's just tiny pinhole fills I wouldn't worry about it. If you have 4x8 inch sections, then yes, re-prime.

Argeo. The last time I drank Everclear I went blind for about 6 hours. I think the stuff is called evercoat. I would spot coat it with a sealer/ primer. Dan

any non catalyzed filler is going to shrink and the repair will be visible thru the paint soon. just use regular bondo with hardener for those skim coats. putty in a tube is not the way to go.

Thanks guys. This stuff uses a hardener. I am now a true believer in bondo. I have had a spot on my thumb nail of Everclear bondo (the mid strength stuff) for like three weeks now. Oh, and I shower once a week too.

FWIW, (To echo JW) I almost always have had problems glazing anything bigger than a pinhole....and I do mean Anything bigger. The product I've used is called Nitrostan.
It's very tempting to use this stuff on slight depression, large scratches etc. I would allow the primer applied over the glazing to cure for quite some time.

IMHO, It's best to use a system.. whether it be a Glasurit product, Dupont ,PPG, Sikkens or whatever. I believe it's risky to mix and match products. The putty in a tube, is lacquer based product, It shrinks like crazy. Dan
