'83 SC A/C problem

It is ouir first 80 plus degree day in Chi-town and I turned on my A/C....Nothin. Ran fine a few weeks ago when I uncovered the car for spring. Had refrigerant topped last summer.

No click from compessor clutch
No blower at all

checked fuse-OK
Checked voltage at A/C evaporator blower motor-voltage .46(?)

How do you check voltage at compressor clutch? Is the compressor clutch slaved to the evaporator blower motor so the compressor does not engage?

I suspect the evaporator blower motor. I assume the refrigerant connections must be opened- ergo let a trained pro take care of it, right?

Any other possibilities?

Is the system still stock? If not, then it might have a high/low pressure cut-off switch. If it does, and if you have a leak in your system, the switch will prevent juice from getting to the clutch.

Check the relay in the smuggler box, for a cheap fix go to rack shack and purchase an automotive relay. For a more expensive fix order a new relay from Porsche or our host. Unlrss they have NOS (new old stock) the new Porsche packaged relays are made in CHINA.

Yes it was a nice weekend in Chi-town. Did some quick maintenance on my 82SC Targa. Drain and replaced the oil, and went for a drive with the A/C on.
