02 sensor wire location

On my euro 1980Sc PO has removed the 02 sensor and I also don't see the wire for it. Were does this wire connect to?
I'd like to hook it back up for fuel economy but there are no tell tale signs of a disconnected wire.

There is a bung on the cat bypass pipe so I assume it had a 02 sensor at some point.

One of the wires connects to a fuse inside the passenger compartment under the cover on the left side of the engine compartment - under the cover that is held on by the two wing nuts. I disabled mine by disconnecting the power to it, but then reconnected it after it ran poorly?
