Doug,

I have a set of those Recaro SE's in my 911 and I think they are a little wider than some of the other sport seats on the market. I do suggest though that you try sitting in one first.

Btw, I had another set of these in a BMW 2002 that I used to own. I've enjoyed the Recaro SE's for about 15 years now.

Regards,

Markus

Thanks again all. I'm going with the Nurburgring seats. I'll post pics when they're in!

Cheers,

Nurbrugring

Hi Doug,
choosing the Nurburgring is the right thing with all considerations.
We provide in our mounting kit the sliders and sidebrackets. The one thing we can not provide are the crossmembers,as with the different height you can adjust the seat while you mount it into the car and I believe strongly that if you buy new seats they should accomodate your preferred seating position and not that you get acustomed to the given one.
But please call me if you have any questions regarding this matter and I will guide you through in all details.
Also I recommend the tilting bracket for the passenger side, so you have access to the rear.
For more comfort specially on long trips we recommend the Lumbar support adjustable at all times.

6' 3" and 230 and I fit well in the Pole Positions.

Once concern is my shoulders are above the harness holes. Removing the foam pads and sitting directly in the buckets gets me almost where I need to be.

The seats are in!

Well, they were delivered to the house, but they're not in the car yet. They're beautiful...

And, upon first "fitting", they're very comfortable! (..of course, it could be that I was in my PJs.. )

I'll start a new thread when they're installed. But right now I'd say they look and feel great. Not sure how supportive they'll be for spirited driving, but I love 'em.

They look sweet! I looked at those but I couldn't convince the GF that she didn't need to recline....I ended up with a really nice set of 72 standard seats with cloth insert (part of the trade/sale for my early sports that needed serious refinishing).

Yeah, I'm very curious to see how they are on an extended drive. (Shuie seems to think they're fine for a long trip.) So far, Julie has given them a big thumbs up!

Hey, Doug! Those seats look awesome!!! Can't wait to see them in the car and hear about how they ride.

Have you been driving the T much up til now? It's been hotter'n Hades up here in So-Bend, and I've been very thankful for the Boxster's AC. BTW, I've been driving the snot out of it - 3-4 days per week to work plus weekend jaunts. You were right about that part . I think it has now overtaken the SC as Teresa's favorite of my handful of Porsches.....and mine too!!

I hope you're enjoying the T as much......or will be after the comfy seats go in .

Hey Matt! No, to be honest "Foxy Brown" has been sitting in the garage more often than not. Mostly because of the hot hot hot weather we've been having! I'll get her out on an occasional evening to keep her exorcised, but otherwise we're just looking forward to cooler fall days.

We did just drive it up to Oxford for the Porsches-2-Oxford gathering last weekend. Got some nice comments on the car! You can see her in these pics (hope the link works )

http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/dougnjulie/album?.dir=f330&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/dougnjulie/my_photos

I'm trying to get an appt. with Ken Farler to get a handful of work done before we have the opportunity to drive it more regularly. The interior is going to be significantly different (again) once the changes are made...new seats, new door panels, new seat belts...you won't recognize her!

Glad to hear you're enjoying the Boxster. I can't decide if I want to get another Boxster as the next Porsche or go with a slightly newer 911. Hmm...sound familiar? Well, since I won't have the money for either for a long, long time, I guess I'll just not worry about that bridge until I cross it. Anywho...good to hear it's doing well and bringing it's owners joy!

Once I get the new ones in, these Corbeaus will for sure go up for sale. I'll be sure to let all know. FYI you and I are of similar dimension (..ahem..) and I'm not really comfortable in the seats. I CAN get in them, and it's not like I lose circulation or anything, but I think they're best for skinnier folk. I suppose it all depends on what you want out of a seat, too. If you want the very snug racing style seat, these would be fine. I wanted more of a daily driver seat....
