Heater backdate with stock SC exchangers possible?

I'd like to get rid of the blower motor on my SC engine. Is it possible to backdate the ducts on both sides of the fan and leave the stock SC heat exchangers?

Yes, the SSI heat inlet was designed to emulate the factory parts used on an SC, #19 and #22 are the SC heat inlets

no problem at all. in fact on my early 78 i did not even need most of the engine tin i bought. the carrera tin needs a full swap out. i only needed the two fan housing pieces, the other 4 were given to pelicans at one point or another.

very good upgrade, or is it down grade? it was up for me as my heater motor was no good from the day i got the car.

Thanks for the great info Gents! The way the '80 SC 3.0's heater blower switch was "rigged" in my pre-blower '74 wasn't something I wanted to correct and make work right anyway. Someday (like when the stock market recovers) a set of SSI headers are planned but for now I'll continue to limp on my old heat exchangers...

I'm drooling on my keyboard looking at that picture Bill!

I backdated the heat with stock heat exhangers and it worked just fine. Got a little cold sitting in Seattle stop lights but once moving heat was fine. With SSI's and full heat you could roast bratwurst.

Drooling none the less!!! Man, those nice fat stainless pipes welded together so beautifully is about enough to make me want mirrors on the floor of the garage if I get a set!
