I removed mine when I had my carpets cleaned. It stayed out when I could not get the screws back through the carpet in the first 5 minutes...

And I like the clean look without it.

Add me to the list of those who have added the console to an earlier car.

I have long drives to the track and need a place for my wallet, EZPass, Ipod, ear plugs etc.

If you still have door panels you could probably lose it and not miss it.

The console I bought weighs 1,147 grams. I have no idea what car it came out of. That might be too much for your race car, but if you have not yet gone to FG on the large panels, removed the R seats and firewall coating, and replaced the steel trailing arms... etc. - then that is not the place to lose wt.

hmmm I wonder what one would look like that was a more "modern" design with the console level with the top of the shifter tower....hmm
