Do you really like the center console?

I think I might leave mine out of the SC. Of course I need to vacuum up 25 years of cracker crumbs.

Sounds like you just started to backdate your car. I'd say get rid of it to reduce weight.

I've got backdated heat, deleted AC, removed the trunk carpet, and as you can see in the picture, no stereo or speakers. Oh, and a ducktail.

It is coming together.

I got rid of mine. It just seemed to make the footwell smaller and I have wide feet. Sounds like a good idea to me.

I reversed the windshield wipers this weekend as well. I don't know if I'm sold on that one though.

Take it out. As far as Brother's wiper change I like it. I'm going to do it later this year.

For the "not weight conscious", it's a great place for a custom sub enclosure. I always like the sound of front bass

Hey, I'm keeping mine. If cassette tape ever comes back, I'll be ready!

I bought one to _add_ to my '73.

You are aren't saving any appreciable wt. by removing it. Do it if the cosmetics of that is what you like.

Mine is a '79 and it never had one.

Not the best pic but I like the clean look on the floor. Besides who needs the weight? Randy aren't you a little embarrassed? Added weight is added weight. In the end it all adds up

I'm out of step with popular opinion, but I added one to my early car. I think the shift selector coming out of the floor looks kind of funny. (Plus, a console is a good place to put gauges.)

I was thinking about putting the gauges in a custom cluster where the radio used to be. If you look at the picture, I just have one of those loose fitting radio delete plates from Porsche.

It might save one pound. This wasn't my only concern. I like the way it looks. I'll have some holes in the carpet, but I'll replace that soon. Like yours Dane.

I might sell it. I've been told that it goes for about 100-150. Can anyone else back that up, please?

rdane needs to stop showing that interior pic, it's not healthy for the rest of us.

I would keep it, especially since it has guages installed and looks cooler than the standard ones.

I saw a neat-looking RS clone--or something of the sort--recently that had no center console plus no rubber boot over the shifter-gates mechanism. The owner had considerably polished the shifter mechanism, and I have to say, it looked really trick.

I'm working on a set of guages that replace the ashtray. Should be easier to read than on the console as well.

Pelican can be such an evil place.....wait till you see finished pictures of the work in progress interior.)
