Its all about the boot

Well I wanted to say thankyou to anyone who responded to my questions and how fact-filled some of the old threads were. I have been "hunting" down a warm high idle and have found a crack on the backside of my airflow sensor boot. Anyone have one, in good shape, they would like to part with?

Just felt like inserting the pic
Thats me a 3000 feet!!

Meanwhile, how about sealing the crack with some silcone sealer to see if that's your problem. It might do the trick and since it's hidden in back where you can't see it...might just leave well enough alone.

Otherwise you might be wasting precious time and moolah while the real culprit continues lurking somewhere inside your engine.

Thought about that! Wasnt sure if heat would be a issue with sealant. Should be ok?

I've used it on ignition cable boots to prevent arcing and it gets much hotter on the plug connectors than it would ever get on top of your engine.
