Its all about the boot
Well I wanted to say thankyou to anyone who responded to my questions and how fact-filled some of the old threads were. I have been "hunting" down a warm high idle and have found a crack on the backside of my airflow sensor boot. Anyone have one, in good shape, they would like to part with?
Just felt like inserting the pic ![]() ![]()

Meanwhile, how about sealing the crack with some silcone sealer to see if that's your problem. It might do the trick and since it's hidden in back where you can't see it...might just leave well enough alone.
Otherwise you might be wasting precious time and moolah while the real culprit continues lurking somewhere inside your engine. Last edited by stlrj; 07-19-2005 at 11:57 AM.. |

Thought about that! Wasnt sure if heat would be a issue with sealant. Should be ok?
