Am I missing a part of my fact short shifter

Hey guys

I think I made a mistake, bought this on ebay

I consulted the pic from PP, and see it looks as if I'm missing something. See red circled part.

Am I in fact missing this, or do you re-use your plate when mounting it?

Thanks a bunch,

DMA

You are missing the part, but if memory serves me the parts are not significantly different. I imagine there must be some difference or why would Porsche include a new one? Contact the seller, and send him the picture with the missing part circled. Maybe it was an innocent mistake, and the part fell out of the box, and he has it laying around some place. For what it's worth, that is the same box that my kit I purchased from Pelican came in.

I saved the old parts so I can compare them if you would like. Let me know.

Thanks Ed

I did contact him, and he doesn't recall another part. Chances are his car now has the short shift pawl on it

I don't know if you can compare it, do you have another to compare it to?

Thanks for your help!

I pulled out the original shift tower cover I took off my car, and compared it to the new one that came with my short shift kit that is currently in my car. I could not discern any difference between the two parts. So maybe Porsche supplied a new one just in case the old was worn? It doesn't seem like a part that would wear much. In my opinion, you will be OK using the existing part that is currently in your car.
