You can cap one side, its just a straight thru, that will make it much quieter, I have the single and its not bad, they say the dual adds nothing but noise.. What size tail pipes do you have? are they the oval 3"

Yes you can also put in a restrictor, The single out which I have is the same as the dual out except the right side is not opened up, I was thinking about making mine a 2 out and open up the right side but I would need the tail pipe,,, just so I could piss off the hood!!

I think that it's the right side that they recommend blocking off, and it does eliminate the 2-3k resonance.

Older B&Bs came w/ equal size outlets on both sides, newerr ones came w/ a very small(~.5") hole for the passenger size out. You don't see it because the tail pipe is normal size, the newest ones also have reinforcing ties to support the outlet stubs.

The small hole definitely reduced noise and resonance.

I was having a NOISE problem also, set off car alarms as I drove by, I had a local shop make reducers that went down to 2.1/4 inch for like 6 inches then new tail pipes, it is a whole lot quieter, Jack O suggested it, I plan to keep the muffler now or untill it cracks, sounds really great even the wife likes the way it sounds, Kevin
