I have not posted a stupid question in a few days....European Racing Headers and fit.

Hi all,

Will 2.7 liter, 1 5/8 European Racing headers fit a 3.2 . Is there any fit concerns, IE; the flange? Is this the best fit?

Thanks
James

Not a dumb question IMO, I use George's 1 5/8" OD headers with 2" OD adaptors for a Dansk street muffler on my motor with no fitment issues. What do you mean by flange concerns?

Are you going to be using adaptors/street muffler or straight megaphones out the back?

Unless you order them for street muffler use, they come shorter for proper fitting of "zoomies". Most people just use the add on pieces you see in the pics above.

What I am trying to figure out is...can I use the headers from a 2.7 that are 1 5/8 European Racing Headers for my 3.2? Are they identical headers? What I mean by "flange" is - where they bolt to the engine.
They will have megaphones (is that the same as zoomies?). As always, thank you for the insight.

Depends on the pipe size...some people use 1.5 to 1 5/8 tubing on 2.7s....I used 1 5/8 on my 3,6...

Yes, the bolt pattern is the same for all 911s thru '94 964.

the Carrera has longer studs, change them or shim the nuts.

1 5/8" D is 1 1/2" ID one step up from SSIs

They are 1 5/8 inside diameter. Would it simply bolt on to my 3.2 the same as they did for the 2.7 they were on? Maybe the 2.7 bolts...or exhausts ports are not the same as the 3.2.

They fit...the late 3.6s are different....they angled them 180 off...

Excellent! That is what I was hoping to here. Is the engine block the same size?
