Engine lid hold down question
Hot rods use hood pins to make the lid easier to remove. What is the 911 equivalent?

Is there something that replaces the hinges too?
At one point I thought I had seen some sort of strap that allowed the engine lid to lay against the rear window. But then what would be the best to hold down the other end; these rubber latches?

hood pins and 911R style rear hinges. This will allow the decklid to flip onto the rear window.

Where would you find these rubber hold downs?

Teh rubber hold downs can be found at just about any VW source that has baja parts. They are usually about $8-10 for a pair. Long ones for the front, short ones for the rear.
btw, I had rubber draw latches on the ST. They were attached to a fiberglass hood with no latch or backup. I found one loose after some spirited driving. They have now been removed and replaced with hood pins. mch more secure IMO. Other's have had no problems.

Thanks for the info guys. Now I just need to find some more close up pics and either buy or fabricate a 1/3 scale set for my son's 964 turbo.
