Sensor ID Help
I need help ID'ing some sensors on a 89 3.2 the first one is the small sensor at the side of the oil pressure sender I was under the impression that this was the oil pressure switch for the arning light but a source im using to help me wire this engine into my earlier car has this as the oil temp sensor. This is connected to pin 3 of the engine loom connector.
The next is the large`ish sensor at the side of the oil thermostat at the top rear of the engine my source has this as blank/unused in his installation, This is connected to pin 9 of the engine loom connector. The third one is the sensor in the top of the crankcase breather cover again I presume this is a temp sensor my source also has this as blank/unused in his installation is this a temp sensor and if so what for if the oil temp sensor is one of the other two? This is connected to pin 8 of the engine loom connector. |

Ok from the pictures in the parts catalog I have worked out that the one next to the pressure sender is the oil temp sensor and the large sensor at the side of the oil stat is for the pressure warning light, this just leaves the one in the crankcase breather what is this sensor for? and do I need to use it?

Thanks Bill
Im all set to make my new wiring loom connector now, to save me hacking up either my old car loom or the new engine loom im just re-positioning the appropriate wires in the connectors in the small loom in rear pannel luckily most things are in the right place any way just a few deleations like the wires for the voltage reg and the cold start relay from the old MFI system.
