UPDATE– Our friend Bruce Anderson sucessfully underwent bypass surgery

Porsche RS Spyder LMP2 – Heart stopping performance – our friend Bruce Anderson to undergo by-pass surgery. I just received this e-mail: “While Bruce Anderson was at Laguna Seca seeing the new Porsche LMP2 car this past weekend, he collapsed and apparently his heart stopped. An Air Force doc happened to walk by after he went down, miraculously, and got him the right help. He was taken to a nearby hospital, and is actually sort of OK. He is being taken up to Kaiser in SF today, for double bypass surgery tomorrow. I spoke with Bruce and Stephanie, Bruce is in a relatively good mood, and he says I should go to the punitentiary for asking if his conclusion is that the new LMP car showed heart stopping performance.” Our prayers go out for Bruce and Stephanie, hopefully everything will turn out for the better. I’ll report more tomorrow. Best wishes my friend, Grady Last edited by Grady Clay; 10-21-2005 at 06:50 PM.. | ||

I hope everything goes well for him. The Porsche world wouldn't be the same without him.

My best wishes as well. I've had the privelege of meeting Bruce several times over the years and he's never been anything but gracious. Despite the incredibly tiresome and petty sniping at him by a handful of early S pensioners here and elsewhere, Bruce has always been (and thankfully continues to be) one of the real giants of 911 enthusiasts in the US. My ex does transplant and bypass surgery. I flew the medivac plane to bring them in to the hospital, so this is very close to me. Our prayers are for Bruce and his family tonight and in the future. Thanks, JoeA

I met Bruce back in 1987 at a Porsche swap meet and he really is a nice guy like others have said. I hope he recovers fast.

Ted Robinson at German Precision passed the news on to me today. Ted and I have talked about getting together with Bruce for lunch sometime. Just goes to show you, don't just talk about doing it, just do it.

I think this needs to be a sticky.... people would want to know about Bruce's condition and be pulling for him, and yes I hope everything goes well during the surgery.

My best wishes for him and his family. It's good to know he got help right away, if not this might be a different post we would not want to see. I met Bruce a few months ago and he was very nice guy. Hope to meet up with him again.
