socket size to remove factory wheel?

I am trying to remove a wheel of my 86 carrera...anyone have the socket size?

Going from memory here...in '72 I believe it's 27mm...you might give it a try.

a full set of metric sockets is quite handy , you just try sizes till it fits...
i'm sure it's worth the money if you have a german car...

As I said in another post...it's right there with a search...

properly, 27 mm....or even 1 1/16"..... will work

27mm= 1.0630"
1 1/16" = 1.0625

Almost no difference....you will have clearance problems, though...probably better to go in with a short socket and an extension..instead of a long socket.

Does "a" wheel mean he has more than one? Maybe it is the 4 rubber wheels and he needs a 19mm socket for the lug nuts.
