Possible ignition switch issue?
Well I am back on the road thanks a bunch of you guys, and very generous individual in For Sale that sold me a new WUR, (PO had the plug on the WUR wired backwards and it would melt the element) However I now have a little starting issue after a few hundred miles of driving.
Every so often, and right after I have driven for a few miles I can't get the starter to crank again. This never happens when it's cold, only warmed up. On another note I can keep turning the key, over and over again, and all of the sudden it will just start cranking. I checked the archives, and it seems like I am as always on the cusp between two possible issues, the electronic portion of the ignition switch, and the starter itself, any insight here?

I bet on the ignition first. Although that is the harder one to deal with. On my 84 carrera, I was able to change that without removing the ignition. On my 80 SC, I cannot see how it can be done without removing the whole shebang. I am getting that very intermittent failure myself and I am looking at a possible switch change out. No fun.
