Photoshop Help - Moving Toward RSR

With all the RSR pics up lately, I was wondering....

Could someone slap some of the "frosted" 17" RSR Fuchs and a ducktail on this thing? It is a '70E with a '73 2.4S built to 2.7RS specs. I need to get rid of these goofy wheels and this tail, and I was looking for some photoshop inspiration. Thanks in advance! JA [img]

Nice work, Dave!! Thanks! I hate to be picky, but any chance you could lighten the color up on those wheels a little? I like that light, frosted/anodized look. Can you take a shot at that?

			Thanks again...very cool! JA

That's what I was looking for, Eric!!! Thanks for solidifying my decision to drop $2,500 on new wheels! I'll tell my wife it was your fault! Any chance you can find some wheels like that to put on the side shot of my car?

And yes, I have been drooling over Doc's post! That is what prompted me to post. Thanks again! Also, can you do anything with a ducktail on that side shot? JA

I'm flattered by your comments! Here's how my car started out, almost the same as yours! The wheels are Lindsey racing in Oklahoma. They are 17x9.5 upfront and 17x11 in the rear. Doug

If you were going to go for the full treatment....You'd have to have the front signal light retainers added to the front fenders, which would require welding and metal work (see Doc's C4RSR back-date thread). However, the front and rear valences (bumpers) and front hood and duck are bolt on FG parts. They would require fitting and overall gap fitment, but that shouldn't be too bad. Also, TRE makes a longhood in FG which uses the short hood style hood latch, so you don't have to cut and move the bulkhead (and allows use of the short-hood hardware). Hope that helps! Doug

Need to lose that rubber smile in between the bumper and fenders/ hood- would help the looks that much better. Otherwise with those big 17" fuchs- yowsah- nice!

Thanks DW and Dave! Yeah, definitely will lose the rubber smile, that will be an easy win. Then, the Fuchs and Duck and I think I will call it good, at least until it is time for new paint. Can anyone throw those wheels on the side shot, or possibly drop a red ducktail on with Photoshop?

I thought he said it was a '70, so it should have the long nose th start with. What has happened here? To be anything like an RSR, the whole front end should be changed back, IMO. Then the back. As it is, it would make a hell of an IROC clone.

Be different. And you can still use Fuchs. BTW, that color would have been perfect in the IROC series. Here, take a look:

That's a great point... what do you call that wing that is on the IROC's... is it just an IROC wing? I have to say I like the ducktail better. Did any of the IROC's have ducktails? I'll definitely go with the Fuchs either way. That tail I have now is just wrong. I think the PO was going for a Carrera RS 3.0 look, but put the wrong tail on. I guess I could go with the Fuchs, then either the ducktail, IROC or Carrera RS 3.0 tail, and it would look a lot better than it does now. Thanks, JA

One of the cool things about Porshe in the 70's are the colors. Pick anyone you want. They did!

Your photo shop version kinda looks like this. I think it is a great choice. ![]() ![]()

Well, rdane, your car is one of my very favorites on this entire board, so maybe subconciously I was thinking about that. Probably should have title this thread "Photoshop Help - Moving Toward rdane"!!!

Can anyone throw a Porsche stripe down the side or some IROC graphics? Thanks a lot for all the suggestions, fellas. JA
