You know - I was helping a buddy try and find a used one several months ago and thought to myself that this would be a great opportunity to have one made out of CF or composite as well as the fan shroud.

As these things fail, there is going to be a market for them.

964 curved fans push about 65% of the flow that the earlier straight edge blade fans do...

caveat emptor ! ....

I believe 80 to 89 911 and 78 to 89 930 are the same 240mm fan.

I don't think they're officially no longer available, but it seems they haven't made any new ones for a while.

Seems like a perfect opportunity for JB Weld.

Are they all made of magnesium?
Can they be made of aluminum instead?

If someone works (or has a friend that do) at a foundry I bet they can be made.

Vertex makes an aluminum one. I don't think JB weld is out of the question especially if you prepare the notch surface correctly. The density of hardened JB weld is probably similar to magnesium.

There's one on UK e-bay just now - sitting at £5.
For some reason the links not working.
Looks pretty good condition also.
Search by typing in Porsche 911 and its in the car parts.
