Name the washer/Victor Reinz part

I dis-assembled a motor and am re-assembling/rebuilding now. Unfortunately the Victor Reinz gasket/rebuild kist don't come with any part list(?!?!)

Here's a pic, can anyone help with these? I am guessing C is a valve bushing, but I had the heads done by a local shop so no wonder I don't see those...

Any of the others look familiar? I am following Wayne's book....

Those are the useless extra parts that don't fit anything. For example "G" is an exhaust gasket that doesn't fit any 911. Except maybe a turbo, but not even sure about that.

HI,
That is an exhaust gasket like Kurt said,

It is made from flexible graphite and wire mesh.
It is probably the best high temperature gasket material available.
It's physical properties are unchanged at temperatures up to 1200 F.

B is a CIS injector seal

"B" is a CIS injector O-ring.
"C" you guessed right, that is a valve shaft seal
"D" looks like distributor O-ring. (I never replace these, never seen one leak and a new one makes is a b**ch to get the distributor in.)

G fits a 964 exhuast. I have a whole collection of those things! I am not sure why they end up in every darn gasket set I buy!

Trying to resurrect this old tired thread because I am now in the business (not actually) of sorting out the many Victor Reinz seals, o-rings and gaskets that came with recently purchased rebuild kits. I have emailed VR in Germany as well as their US representative, but have not heard a peep.

I purchased the complete engine and head gasket sets, which came in several sealed, numbered packs. Some parts are quite obvious as to their purpose and placement on the engine, but others are very close in size/shape and I can't figure them out.

Any assistance or guidance on how to get a cross reference or listing would be much appreciated.

As a first-time engine rebuilder, I'm feeling a bit over whelmed right about now...

Only thing I can recommend is as you disassemble and come across a o ring or seal, match it to one in your kit then mark the location.

There are so many extra parts in the set that you won't be needing for your rebuild project. What is important is that you have the parts needed for your rebuild. Like Bruce A. said, you will accumulate over the years the extra o-rings, washers, seals, etc. Save them because they come handy sometimes. After a dozen engine rebuilds, I have now a small zip lock bag of these unknown parts. Keep them in small baby food jar to remind you of your first engine rebuild.
