I went Fikse FM 10 for mine. They definitely give it a different look, but it's purposeful and retro at the same time. (Mine are all black)

D@mn Matteo, I'm swaying hard with the "go CL" guys!!

Wider than tall has some inherent badassedness...

goodygoodygoody.

adomakin 12-11-2006 01:43 PM

Mike, theres plenty of MG's over here that have Centre lock hubs (or 'knock-off' hubs as they call them) so you shouldn't have any legal issues using the CL's.

Keith

we NEED to find the right wheels. The Kraftwerkz guys are MIA. $15k for some real RSR seems a little extravagant.

I looked at some Jongbloed and Fikse but seem too modern.

The old 5 spoke Hillbrand look right but nobody makes the right style anymore.

I am not putting BBS Motorsports on it.

"I am not putting BBS Motorsports on it."

Bless you, child! You just won a free beer - anytime you want to stop by.

Jeff Alton 12-11-2006 05:12 PM

I won't use BBS Motorsports wheels either, really I won't.... :)

Do I get beer now too?!?!

Cheers

I sense a little sarcasm in your reply... :(

I vote for CL's also! That would make it even cooler then cool times 10!!

I'm in the same boat here.. I'm looking for something a bit different for my IROC clone.. those magnesium center locks look great and I have been on a hunt lately for something very close to that look, but no luck here...

Your running a Motec and keeping the twin distributor setup?

Why not 12 coil packs with ignitors and get rid of those things. I hate them and have considered going Motec one day just to loose them.

Oops, I should have read on. Sorry!!

adomakin 12-11-2006 10:14 PM

mike, $15000 for the real deal does sound like lots but it would be a pretty nice investment-i doubt you'd loose a penny if you resold later (you'd probably make on them)

SCHNELE 12-12-2006 06:50 AM

No market or a limited does not bode well for investment, one has to have more than a desire for the item i.e. the means also to procure it.
As far as the twin dizzy I would have chosen the CDI as well. I must say too that I am reticent to make critical comments about someone's carefully planned and obvioulsy expensive engine build, but it is well settled that a CDI will yield better performance over the dizzy.

Matteo, here are the guys in England i found who make a nice 6 spoke centerlock (GT40) which is not so far from the 5 spokle 917 if painted/ anodized right. Great thing is that you can order custom offsets and finish to your specs, in 15,16 and 17 inches. (Andy or others in the UK, can you tell us about these guys... haven't had a chance to contact due to being frigging busy with work, etc)

Will pm you about the hubs as have been tied up in miami this week on bizness.

I agree

your car is gonna wanna stand out on all levels, and it isn't exactly a replica.....its just retro...

go with some wheels other then the fuch's....(MO)

rennch 12-12-2006 08:55 AM

Hey matteo,

Here's mine with the black FM-10's: (In the garage waiting for some welding/bodywork)

Personally, because they are spoked and black, I still think they have a retro racecar feel.
