993 C4 calipers question

I've got a chance to get a set of all 4 calipers off of a 993 C4 for a pretty good deal.

Would they be an upgrade on my stock '92 C2? Is it a big hairy deal to get them mounted up proper?

I think you need some adaptors in front (check with FVD), rear should bolt right on. The rear stock rotors should also fit, but I think you will need new rotors in the front.

Not a big deal at all, you do need non oem caliper adapters as w/ a 911, but it's all bolt on stuff w/ oem Porsche parts

I was hoping you'd reply Bill, thank you.

Of course, I was jumping the gun and I got my facts wrong. These calipers I just got are in fact 996 base level units. Brembo, 4-piston, monoblock.

Steve at Rennsport says it would be lots of work to make these fit and they really aren't that much healthier than my stock '92 C2 brakes. A "lateral" move, as he put it.

Do other people concur? Too much work to make standard 996 brakes fit my '92 C2 for not that much performance gain?

If I don't use these, what is a fair price to ask for the set?

I agree 100% w/ Steve.

The 993 brakes would be a nice step up.
