Excellent. I see the original color was Metallic Gold. What color are you repainting the car?

Welcome to the Forum. You will find lots of help here.

You now have the serious responsibility to get the “T” back on the road. Judging by your pictures, you have a lot of work ahead of you. The more questions you post on the Forum, the better we can help.

At the bottom-rear of the rear window, inside that double panel there is a sound-proof “gasket”. It tends to absorb moisture and should be removed. When dry and warm, coat the inside with a rust preventative. If you have your 911 on a rotisserie, also apply this with the chassis upside down.

After you remove the tail light assemblies, pay particular attention to the corners toward the inside rear. You want to make sure there isn’t any rust.

When you have the engine & transmission out, I recommend you disassemble the rear suspension and inspect the inside of the torsion bar tube. Probably this is the most critical part of the 911. Clean the torsion bar splines and preserve the interior of the tube. Do a search on rust tube torsion bar and more.

It is your responsibility to do this correctly. You will be rewarded with many years of fun and satisfaction and have a well preserved and valuable early 911.

Best,
Grady

Fantastic job! Good thing you caught that rust and did it before it got to bad. That paint job looks to be top notch!

Nice work! When I saw the new inner fender support, I thought, ohh ooh. That's a tough one to line up. But, the fenders and doors image perfectly in the pics.

And, wow!!, a tiled wash bay before the downdraft spray booth. That is first rate. I'd go back to painting cars if I had a set up that nice. I've never seen such a nice facility.
