Exclamation A/C question

IS it possible to put an A/C kit on a 911 that doesn't have one before?
Anyone did it?
About electric system, is it too difficult?
Thanks guys
Pierre

Yes. Yes. Expect to spend probably around US$2000. Electrical part is relatively straightforward.

Just curious, why would you want AC in Montreal? Isn't it cold enough for you anyways? Plus the added weight to slow you down.

Last summer I was at Mt Tremblant for a DE. It was 95 F and almost 100% humidity. I drove my 911 to/from the track from upstate NY and didn't have A/C.
I decided on a trailer this year for DE's so I could travel in comfort and with A/C.
I guess you don't get much humidity in Michigan???

Well no,
it's only -30 right now.

Seriously, I have one for sale.
The buyer, doesn't have one on his car, so.
I think is gonna be very hard to install,
and a lot of wiring everywhere.
I wonder if all porsches have holes and wiring
ready to receive the a/c ?

We do! Lots of it. But it's also so cold here that when it gets warm I want to enjoy it. Sometimes it can be uncomfortable, but that's when I start using the expressways. More wind and less stops. AC is nice don't get me wrong. I have to admit there were a few, maybe 5 days or so I would've liked AC. But I can "suffer" driving my P-car for that amount of time in the heat. It wouldn't be worth 2k for 5 days a year enjoyment to me.

Probably $200 US is tops. Check the classified board for prices. If you can sell locally it is tres bon as those parts are heavy!

Pierre,

Anticipate 40 hours for reasonable installation of a good working system.

In addition to buying a used "complete" system,
depending upon the year of the body you may
need to locate a good used "Behr" brand knee pad
ac vent panel, and you'll need a new receiver drier and barrier hose set to match your system.

There are some good posts on the PP here for you to read.

Any pics, my new best friend?

And I don't think it change the value of the Pcar.
If your car is mint, a/c or not.
Are you far of montreal?

Pierre ;-)
