Wong Chip and CA smog question

I'm going to be getting my 1987 Carrera smogged for the first time since switching to a Steve Wong chip. Two years ago with the stock chip, my car passed easily. I'm a bit worried about this smog check with the new chip. Should I be? I suppose I could swap the old one back in for the test, but it's a hassle, and I'm hoping that it won't be necessary. Anyone have any experience with this issue? Thanks in advance!

Smog places usually gives you a second chance if you don't pass the first time (something like 30 days to fix the problem). So take it in and if you don't pass swap out the chip. Steve W. told me that 1 in 5 cars, with Steve W. chip, have some issue with passing CA smog.

I just replugged the two brown wires under the drivers seat that I had disconnected and left the chip in. passed smog no big deal.
But did make sure the car was warmed up. prior to going in.

But if you don't pass because of emission, or even pass and your emission is fairly close to failing, then you get to see the Test Only Station the next time.

I wonder if the SW chip would make it more difficult to pass smog here in California?

Talked to Steve W. just before I had my smog done last December. He said there's a 1/5 chance that a CA. car (84-89 at least) with his chip won't pass smog. All dependent on the condition of other sensors and condition of components. So I just swapped back the OEM chip and re-installed it after the smog check.
First 25 mlles with Steve Wong chip!!!

Thanks all for your input. It looks like no real consensus one way or the other. Since my emissions were very low last time, I'm leaning toward going for it with the Wong chip in place (an the little brown wire reconnected).
