The Getty Design Flush Mount Frame Kit
Has anyone here got any experience with these?
![]() Do they facilitate the ability to fit the 993 screens to the older style cars, and therefore also removing the rubbers? What is the fit like etc?

P, these are race car parts, meant for poly/lexan glazing, is your car street or track?

My car is 99% street. I was just wondering if this was a cost effective solution for getting rid of the leak prone rubber seals on the SC, and at the same time getting the more modern 993 look.

The Getty flush mounts are not water proof. They are meant for race cars.

Those are not what you want for a street car

I am thinking about using this one from SPEKTR with my fiberglass hardtop.. My car is street only and not driven in bad weather, the guy at SPEKTR said this rear unit can be made about 99% leakproof with silicone.I'll just have to be careful when washing it.

you could use the 964 setup IIRC some have done that on the front
it would reduce wind noise a bit also

The 964 setup eliminates the metal trim piece.

The Sektr flush mounted rear window is one nice unit. The price is a bit hard to swallow.

You can use a 964 windshields and trim-less gaskets on front and rear, and you can use the 993 gaskets on your existing rear 1/4 windows. Some have tried to use the 964 gaskets with stock windshields, but I believe he windshields are a bit too small....

Bringing this thread back up. Has anyone had issues with how well their getty design frame kit fits? I have the quarters and rear window frames.

If you are familiar with installing FG parts you will be pleased with the Getty frames, if this is you first experience with FG you will be pissed off! Let me explain. FG is a brilliant process used to create all kinds of elaborate shapes for relatively low cost. The problem is that when the part is delivered to you, it is not finished. You will need to finish it before you install on your car. "Finishing" includes grinding the flange for the correct depth, cutting the opening for a consistent width and nice round corners, filling various divots and holes in the surface due to mold damage, all over sanding and glazing. And of course painting. I did all this, and my car is a track rat, not a spit and polish queen!
