Fuchs polishing--how to remove spider webbing?

I've searched the boards and jewelers rouge and 4" buffing wheel was supposed to be 'da bomb' but that really seems to bring out a spider webbing/grainy finish out in the aluminum under my garage flourescent lights. Is there a final step after this to bring out the mirror finish? Thanks

Chances are that you didn't get the fine scratches out when you started buffing with the rouge. You can either use some tripoli (a final application that is a fine scratch remover), or some 1500 wet sand paper. Then hit it with the rouge. Mothers aluminum polish is also nice for a final finish. Don't be too hard on yourself. I've seen fuchs from a finisher that many use here and they had many fine scratches in them.
