There is no substitute.

Call me a sad individual but this made me feel all warm inside.

Im out for a drive, to realize I don't have to wait a decade or two.

Matt, you're a sad individual.

That said I couldn't agree more!

Hey - think I was that kid too... 30 years ago... Only difference is I would have told her what was so interesting outside the window...

That advert gave me chills, the burning passion we share for these automobiles were kindled when we were boys probably about the actors age.

I think that commercial would have made more sense 20 years ago. I don't think kids today lust after the 997 like we used to over the air-cooled ones. Good commercial though.

That was me then and that is still me! I still draw Porsche 911s when I'm bored at presentations or when it's slow at work. The only thing about that video that doesn't jive with me is. That kid got better treatment from the dealership than I usually get. I walk in there and I get treated like I owe them something. That's why I avoid the dealer as much as possible!

I agree with all above, snif. I was that kid but 15 (five decades earlier) and not 9.

PCNA should have all the adds available for download in various resolutions. They pay millions to produce these and many are “works of art,” certainly for enthusiasts. Why not have them readily available?

I can envision showing these at PCA meetings and just in the garage while entertaining Porsche friends and neighbors. This is another area PCNA can both help sell Porsches and keep us support/sales enthusiasts on the ball and happy.

Best,
Grady

This would make a great CD if someone would put it together. Vintage Porsche film and commercials would be really cool! I want one or maybe we should start a thread and have the Pelicans contribute things they have. I don't remember ever seeing any vintage Porsche film or commercials, do you?

I still do that...see the latest version, go to the dealship, sit in the car, and as I'm leaving...tell the salesman, I will be back in twenty years. Dangit I'll be 64

I like two others....

- the guy who wakes up in a coma after 10 years....dusts off his 550 and finds a Boxster on the road...both drivers do double-takes....

- the daughter of an admittedly aged father...who always seems to "miss" the school bus...so "Dad" gets to drive her....even her voice.."DAD ! ".....

The very first time my daughter asked to be picked up in the Porsche, reminded me of that commercial with the girl missing the bus. It was cute to watch my daughter look around to see if any of her friends saw her getting into the car. Ahhh how life imitates art. Some what related, but 2 of my favorite Porsche printed ads was the infamous "KILLS BUGS FAST" 911 Turbo ad. then there was another one where it was an aerial view of a winding road and the ad simply said "....they say the shortest distance between 2 points is a straight line......unless you drive a Porsche."

I think that might be the reasoning behind this commercial.
