My 1987 RSR Conversion

Here are some pictures of my 1987 RSR conversion that I wanted to share.

A few months ago my brother in-law "Evill Ed" and I did an carbon fiber RSR body conversion on my car using GT Racing components. I had to do something to get those 17" x 11" and 17" x 9" Fiskes on my car. The fenders, hood, tail, and bumpers are finished in polished carbon fiber and fastened to the original steel using mil-spec stainless steel fastners and custom made brakets fabricated by Ed.

The car has a SW chip and the exhaust system is European Racing Headers flowing into a custom made magnaflow "double barrel shotgun" exhaust. Loud as hell and love it that way . Should see the facial expressions of the mini van moms as you pass them at full throttle

I posted a couple of pictures.

Nice. How was the fitment? We did a bumper from them a few years ago and it was a rough fit, more befitting a race car then an everyday driver.

Cheers,
Ed go to the webshots link in my signature and click on Mark's album. I have some pics of how I fit the flares and fasteners.

The flares actually fit nicely to the fenders. the bumpers were a little rough. It took alot of trimming and aligning to get a nice fit. The brackets I made move and align the edges of the bumpers to keep the fit even with the flares.

I do like that look, although I think on a car with a similar color like black, the carbon fiber panels would look sweet. I'd have to see it for a while for it to grow on me.

Could be.

Maybe.

Sort of.

Why?

No, it is a pic I pulled from somewhere on the net. I find it amuzing. I often wonder how many people think that is what I look like.

I'm a regular looking guy.

Just wondering, because I frequent the website that picture was most likely taken from, and was wondering what that guy would think about being your avatar...
