I wasn't planning on it but I've had several folks ask so I may rethink that decision. Performance chip suppliers who are competent in programming chips don't have
to modify and possibly damage the DME unit when adding a 4K chip to the early
DMEs. Check here for more info:

Besides, why waste money on a 2K/4K performance chip when you can get
better results with the stock 8K chip DME mod?

Steve-What bolt ons would you recommend for my 964 to make the most out of your chip? I plan on keeping the cat, but swapping the muffler for a G pipe and getting a M&K 1 out. Should I look at airbox mods?

You don't need to do anything to realize substantial gain on the 964s. However, if you make any exhaust modications such as a primary or secondary bypass, it will just be complementary to the setup. I didn't realize M&K now makes 964 mufflers.

You can modify your airbox by boring some large holes in the air box cover for some additional top end power at the expense of additional induction noise. We dynoed a consistent 4-6 hp gain at the rear wheels after 4200 rpm just by this.

I'm not sure Ben realizes he makes 964 mufflers either. I live near him and we talked about a custom job for my car. I'm guessing he wouldn't be adverse to expanding his production horizons for others once he has a design.

Before I get out the hole saw kit and drill, do you happen to have any pics or can you give me a heads up on where to put the holes? Thanks

No pics, but you could just get creative with a 2" holesaw, or just cut off the face and leave the frame. Try driving it with just the air box cover removed and air filter duct taped to the airbox to see if you are ok with the change in sound.

Since the 964 exhaust is very similar to the 3.2 with a cat coming off the left side, I would think Ben could modify his 3.2 design to attach the the 964 cat, and have an outlet exiting on the right.

Don't be worried about a radical increase in induction noise, because it is pretty subtle. You're not going to sound like a Civic with a 3" intake tube w/ cone filter...

Here's some totally unsolicited advice for Steve.

Wouldn't "STEVE WONG PERFORMANCE TUNING" be a better company name than 911Chips? 911Chips makes me think of, well, Doritos, and it kind of encourages the mistaken notion that a chip is a chip is a chip. In fact, the difference between a Steve Wong chip and the competition can be as dramatic as winning your class or blowing your motor.

Plus, wouldn't something like this look cooler on a windshield banner?

I think it's good advice. I did a Google search after seeing this thread using Steve Wong Chips. 911chips was the first link, however, I wasn't really sure I had the right site until I saw the graphics that Steve uses in the avatar. That said, it would be easy to get misdirected.

Steve-be proud of your name! It's synonamous with perfomance chips.
