Deceleration Valve defective?
Hi
My idle is way to high, ~18-2000 rpm. If I squeeze the top vacuum hose together the idle drops to a more normal rpm. With that description is it safe to say that its kaputt? ![]() Its kind of expensive, I guess I can live without it. If I remove it I should plug all vacuum hoses right?

Guess what, it's adjustable! Back off the locknut and turn in the stem clockwise to increase the spring tension against the diaphram 'til you get it to idle.

I'll try that.
I read about it but I thought it only controlled the rpm it held for a few seconds.

Adjusted it and it now workes fine!
I have to remove it and put it in a vice to break the lock nut free.

Actually I'm not sure the "adjusting" fixed the problem.
It is adjusable, the revs and time changed when I turned stem, but when have broken loose the lock nut and reinstalled it the problem was gone. I guess it just needed a good spanking ![]()
