Post Every end is a new beginning

Like saying goodbye to a close friend. Sure, you've had your differences, but in the end all you remember are the good times.

At least it won't drip oil on the 911.

Think I would have a hard time letting her go. Then again I don't like replacing things - I like adding things

It is a 993. A late '95 C4. And you know, driving it home today, I was really amazed at how much it has in common with the '71. Just more and better, more and better. Except the weight, which is more and worse.

Another 993 convert - welcome to the club! Many ways to make her lighter...

Enjoy!

Would those "many ways" be much different from what we know from the older 911s; such as gutting the interior, smaller battery, removal of a/c, or are there other tricks to the trade?

BTW: Jon, I always admired your car. Did you give it up exclusively for the 993?

Ironically the 993 is the only other Porsche I really have a desire for (of course if money and space were not an issue, I'd have one of each!)... the last of the models with the headlights sticking up from the hood...

Great choice, she's purdy...

Good choice, gonna leave it stock or are you slip sliding away?

Sort of. I knew it was time to sell the '71. I was averaging barely more than 1000 miles a year. I had also developed an irrational paranoia which affected how and where I drove it. It was time to make a change.

I'd lusted abstractly after the looks of the 993 for a while, and I'd been keeping an eye out for a year. Test drove a few in the last couple of weeks and this one was the price v. condition winner.

Great choice! If you don't mind me asking, how much did the 71' go for?
