Top end rebuild questions

Since I'll be needing a clutch in the near future I was wondering if anyone has any input as to machine work and costs to redo the valves etc.?
Do you just remove the heads and leave the jugs (Cylnders) alone?
My Sc has 124k miles maybe I am premature maybe not since I'll have the motor out I wouldn't think the machine work such as valve grind ,new valve guides ,head polishing would be that expensive (over $400)
maybe I am wrong though
Any input appreciated

Well cyl. head work on the 911 is quite easy
if you have all the right tooling. Automotive Machine and Supply Inc. is the machine shop in which i am the foreman and the bosses son. I am a certified master machinist and love rebuilding high performance engines.

to answer your question, if all you wanted to do is refresh your hds. like new then you would be looking around $450 this includes
changing all guides, cleaning cyl. hd.,grinding valves,3 angle valve job(just like the one from the factory,we use a serdi 100),surfacing the cyl. hd. deck.,and fixing any broken exhaust studs, and chasing spark plug holes.

Now if you want into performance then we do all of the above plus dual spark plugs, port matching and micro polishing ports, larger intake and exhaust seats and valves, swirling and back cutting valves for better flow, ceramic coating the combustion chamber and valves, coating the exhaust port to produce an ultra slick port plus the coating deflects the heat and keeps it from disapating into the head. We also have a thermal dispersant which we spray the outside of the hds. it gives the hds. a dull black look, kinda like helicopter exhaust. Going full blown like that you could be looking anywhere from $800 to $1200

The best thing to do is call us. Ask for Steve, he is the sales manager, and the guy who decides all the prices. My name is Eric and I am the machinist. Please visit our web site www.automotivemachine.com or call 1-800-210-8675 we are central time so M-F 9-6 Sat. 9-2
good luck Eric

You are in the ball park. You might give Ollies a call. 714 558 7334. Or find out who your relatively local shop is.
