964 505 143 01c is the black seal that goes across. attach the top side of the bumper with 964 505 021 00 rail.
The rail can be modified slightly to mount to the 74-89 tub, then the bumper slides over it, holes drilled to correspond to the rail, then the seal mounts to that in the center- makes a cleaner install

Sorry, but I don't quite follow. Do you mount the smile to the bumper and then mount the bumper to the car or mount the bumper to the car and then mount the smie?

mount the center rail to the center tub- align it so the bumper slips over it. drill holes thru the bumper so they line up with the ones in the rail.
install the smile on the bottom of the fenders leaving the center section loose- slip the bumper on for the final time , making sure the smile is on the upper side of the bumper- use the holes in the smile to attach screws through the bumper into the mounting rail
simple? well not completely- you need to line up everything first to make sure the fit is correct. if you have the smile too far back, the hood will not close completely without you having to pull the smile rubber up over the hood lip. so be patient and test fit everything before drilling and making your final mounts

I'm not visualizing this and I'm one of the guys running a Ruf bumper with 964 smile on my SC.

I ran the 964 rail part number through Pelican but there is no pic available. Anyone have a pic of this part?

There is a verticle lip on the back of the Ruf bumper that butts up against the front of my SC tub. I would think this lip would not allow you to slide the Ruf bumper over this 964 rail.

I'm confused....need pics!

Thanks for the help.

screw conformity....go your own way

-before fog lights and oil cooler.
lol

however, i guess it still have the rubber at the side.... though most people don't notice it

w/e you pick i'm sure it'll be an improvement....as long as it isn't a slant nose
