Yes, that would be nice. Unfortunately, I don't have access to stock information at Porsche until I go to actually order something. Their computer systems absolutely suck eggs.

These spec books are getting very hard to find. I duplicated all of the information on the engines for 1965-89 in my Engine Rebuild Book, but there is still a lot not covered in there. It would be a neat project to compile them all together into one source, but who has time to do that? It took me forever to do the stuff for the Engine book...

I would be willing to lend my books (I have every single one, including the impossible to find 951 one) to someone would could scan them, and then we could put them up on the site. I really doubt that Porsche would raise a fuss over these...

Did you ever hear from their IP lawyers when you published the parts information and specs in the original Engine Rebuild Book? What was the advice of your own IP counsel in determining whether to include that information?

The answers to those two questions are an indication of how to proceed with this. . .

I would be willing to do some scanning. If we find a few people to do it it would go fast. If it's just me, it could take a while!

It's beyond me why the early documents aren't in print. It can't cost PAG that much to produce a run every 3-6 months, and it's clear there's more demand than supply.

I bought a new Tech Spec booklet for my '73.5 (the '72-'73 bought from Performance), but the Owner's Manual I need continues to elude me. I'm watching ebay and various classifieds. I may have to travel to a swap meet, which raises the cost quite a bit.

Our host used to list them in the catalog, I ordered one, it was accepted and then cancelled as not available.

Now I see that all the owner's manuals before 74 have disappeared from our host's online catalog!

That's just ... wrong. If PAG doesn't want to print these things, they should let someone else do so. As someone else posted, I'm not interested in collecting it, I want the info.

"If PAG doesn't want to print these things, they should let someone else do so."

- Let's call that "copyright desertion"

I prefer "genericide." Something that the owners of the worlds most powerful brand franchises steadfastly refuse to do.

Maybe this should be pursued through the PCA, which at least has, for better or worse, "factory support." Wayne is The Enemy, as far as PAG is concerned. So are we. Don't ask me why.

I haven't seen a '72-73 FS yet in 4 years. I may have missed some on eBay 'cause I don't look.
