Englebert...I am doing the same rocker panel replacement, and it looks like I have to take a donor chunk slightly further back like you did. Did you document your process when you did it? I'd love to take a look.
Thanks!

I actually cut out the piece you see missing. and I welded it back in. I added a backing strip on the back. About a 3/8 wide piece of sheet metal. It helped to align the piece. You have to be careful weling in the piece, just go slow and don't try to weld it all the way at the time, or it will pull in a dent. Good luck. ![]()

Englebert...Why did you cut it? Is it just easier to get to the rocker that way? Do you have any other pics of the rocker replacement? You can send anything you want to porscheparts@whirledmedia.com if you have a few.

I also had to add a piece between the rocker panel and the side panel since the side panel had thin material because of rust at that spot. ![]() I normally cut out the rusted pieces and not only patch over it, as you can see. I will post more pictures as I go along. Thanks

what are you doing for corrosion protection and finishing in the hidden areas, such as behind the rockers?

Very impressive. What are your plans for the tub as far as coatings? After browsing the latest RSR thread, I would probably see about having the tub baked to get rid of all the goo and then coated for corrosion resistance. It would be reassuring that all that hard work would last as long as possible.
