Jay,
You going to join us for our run over to ML National Monument on the 14th? Looks like we have at least a dozen so far. Hope everyone can actually make it.

I pretty much begged Thom Fitzpatrick to make these a few years ago. I'm looking for fiberglass or plastic pieces that replace both front and back bellows. Removing the rubber strips and painting the heads of a few carriage bolts is all that would remain to create a much cleaner look.
I think it would be a big seller.

I dont mind the impact strips....but I would love to get rid of the bellows....also wish there was a rocker replacement that was smooth....but carrera shaped,,,,not 964 shaped...not sure how one would attach it though....

I'd be interested in a pair. I'm a little apprehensive about ditching the OEM bumper. That steel bar gives me a bit of comfort tracking the car.

Dave at TRE,
Are you still considering this, or is there room for someone else to work on it?

I made my own front bellow deletes early last year out of old rear bumper extensions. I later sold them to a fellow Pelican after installing a fiberglass bumper....

AH HAH!!!! I knew I had seen some for sale! It is too funny, as I was just going through the archives trying to find your thread for the sale. Can you share any more info about what you did specifically? Any more pics you can share... I remember seeing them in the ad and thinking they looked really good. Nice work!

I basically replaced the rubber bellow with a piece cut from an old rear bumper extension. The lines/bends of the rear bumper extension make a natural fit if you do it correctly with a little imagination. I then fiberglass/bondo'd the new piece to the existing front wheel arch piece. After a little paint, it looks like one piece.
Keep in mind with this or something similar in place you are completely eliminating the "function" of the bellows. Any bellow replacement will be destroyed during a 5mph front bumper impact because the bumper is designed to move and absorb the impact. The bellow is covering an air space for the bumper to travel in. You could end up with fender damage that would have otherwise not happened. Dan

Someone needs to make these pieces out of FRP (flexible reinforced plastic) like some modern body panels. They will flex and not damage the body during a low speed collision.

Maybe we can get Saturn to do it for us. Then they would not dent either!

Wandered off somewhere...

While you're at it, make a replacement for the rear center reflector. Can't seem to find one of those either.

How about other materials? how about a more smooth rubber piece that can be painted to match the fenders but will bend or pop out on impact? how about balsa wood or styrofoam (sp?) or something like that which can be painted but would easily crush on impact before damaging the fender?
